Omega

It carries the Greek symbol Omega - a symbol of perfection - living up to its name: the watch name of Omega was brought to life in 1848 by Swiss born Louis Brandt; he manufactured wristwatches under this name. The company was renowned for its perfection in measuring time. Omega official watches were already being used by many railway companies by the end of the 19th century; the first commitment of this kind for Omega was in China, where the Chinese National Railway Company put its trust in Omega. But precise timing is long not the only attribute adjudicated to this elite brand. Omega has also made itself a name by producing extremely elaborate watches. Many international awards prove this: Omega has won several different awards at international fairs; as well as this, the brand name has collected many Diamonds-International Awards and seven Goldene Rosen from Baden-Baden. The precision of the Diver's Watches also gave the history of this brand even more great moments: In 1974 the official Omega Marine Chronometer was the first wristwatch, which was officially recognised as a Marine Chronometer. This was awarded as the most accurate wristwatch in the world, and brought this company success in other areas: time measuring by Omega is used at many prestige sporting events. This in turn meant that many sports stars were used to advertise this brand: Michael Schuhmacher, Anna Kurnikova and many other greats, advertise for Omega, just like many stars from show business, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Phelps, Sergio Garcia, Ian Thorpe, Cindy Crawford and Nicole Kidman to mention a few.

Especially sought after are the models of watches, which have been inspired by those, kept in the company's own museum. Historical designs such as the Tonneau Renverse from the year of 1952 have now been fitted with modern Omega watch movements and are now enjoying a comeback.
