Quartz Watches
Different to mechanical watches that are driven by a pendulum, quartz watches are fed by a oscillator, whose frequency is made by a oscillating crystal. The first quartz watches were developed by Warren Alvin Morrison, in and around the 1950's, these quiet often lost or gained time, but thanks to modern technology this is not a problem anymore. The time display is either digital or analog. Conventional quartz watches have a deviation of up to 15 to 30 seconds per month. Models have now been developed because of this that synchronise with automatic radio controlled watches.
